StepFast’s Fall Recipes

CAROB FUDGE SAUCE

Great for dipping strawberries, as a topping for non-dairy ice cream, or simply with Pita Chips or graham crackers.

3 T. carob powder
¾ c. water
½ c. dates
1 T. peanut or almond butter
1 t. vanilla
1/8 t. salt
1 t. Postum or other instant coffee substitute

  1. Heat carob powder, water and dates until dates are soft and carob and water becomes glossy.
  2. Combine this mixture with remaining ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
    Store in refrigerator. Freezes well.
  3. For Carob Mint Sauce, add 1/4 t. peppermint flavoring or 3 drops peppermint oil.

*Sauce will have a nice flavor even without this ingredient.
